As WMATA replaces older railcar fleets with modern equipment, hundreds of legacy railcars are being removed from service. These railcars must be safely transported, dismantled, and processed to recover recyclable metals while properly disposing of any remaining components.

The I-495 NEXT project is a major infrastructure upgrade that extends the I-495 Express Lanes by 2.5 miles north toward the American Legion Bridge. As part of the region’s most high-profile transportation initiative, LANE Construction enlisted REMAC to execute critical demolition phases along the corridor, including work adjacent to live traffic, utilities, and active commuter rail.

The AMC Theatres property, located directly adjacent to the Westfield Montgomery Mall, was slated for demolition as part of a long-planned redevelopment into a mixed-use complex featuring housing, retail, and public space. The aging theater structure, built of concrete masonry, steel, and commercial roofing systems, required careful takedown and environmental controls due to its proximity to active retail zones and heavy vehicular traffic.

Baltimore Shoreline Cleanup

The Baltimore Harbor is a vital economic and cultural asset, but one challenged by years of stormwater-driven waste, floating debris, and shoreline trash. In support of the City’s Healthy Harbor Initiative, REMAC was contracted to remove accumulated trash from shorelines and inlets as part of ongoing harbor restoration efforts.
